Happy New Year, mamas! How are you doing? We have officially made it to 2025 and although some of us look to a new year with expectant anticipation, I know so many of us aren't that excited. I know many of you have already had a hard 2024 and 2025 isn't looking too promising.
This is why I wanted to write a little encouragement for you today and as you move into this new year. A new year is a fresh start, a blank page in a new chapter of your life. Sometimes it brings hope and enthusiasm, sometimes it brings heartbreak and trepidation. No matter where you find yourself on the scale of feelings heading into 2025, I want to remind you that God is always making a way and He is always doing something new. He is in the business of restoration, revival, healing, and making a way where there is no way. If there is anything that I keep learning over and over in life is that never count anything out, because you never know how God may use even this.
This verse in Isaiah is one that speaks to my heart and I believe every heart right now. God, who is reminding Israel in the desert that He was the one who made the way for them to be delivered from 400 years of captivity in Egypt. And it was Him who led their people through the Red Sea and into the promised land. Yes, it may have taken a lot longer than they had anticipated or desired (mainly because of their stubbornness and disobedience...aren't we all just like that). Similarly, God is reminding us, right now, in our own situations that only He can spring up new life, make ways in our wilderness circumstances, and bring forth streams of life in the wastelands of our hearts.
There is nothing too big for our God, but we have to continue to trust Him and where He leads, even when it may not make sense. Even when the way seems too hard to bear. Even when our feet may fail us and our hearts are parched from the lengthy time we spend in the desert. Your circumstance, whatever that may be, does not go unnoticed or ignored by God. You, my dear one, are precious and cared for, even in the desert. God is with you in it and He is perhaps making something new in you through it.
May 2025 bring you many blessings, even if you find yourself in the wilderness. May God continue to guide you every step of the way and show you His everlasting peace and grace in the midst of whatever comes to pass this year. You are never alone. And you are always so, so loved. Perhaps this is the year He makes something new in you.
