Dear reader,
I'm going to make this one short and sweet, especially because there is a solid chance if you are reading this, you are a mom, and it is May. Meaning it is the end of school and there are teacher gifts to buy, parties to attend, and summer schedules to coordinate. If you are anything like me, you are already burnt out and looking forward to the Summer break.
My goal in writing to you today is to cheer you on and encourage you to persevere through these next few weeks. As hard as it will be, and is, soak up these last days of school. I know, I know. But every end of one school year means we are getting ready for the next one and before you know it the one after that. This is just a season, albeit a very busy one, but a short one. Enjoy it while it is here because you will miss it once it is gone.
That preschooler will soon be in kindergarten. That kindergartener will soon be going to middle school. That high schooler will soon be graduating and off to the big world. Time is a thief that waits for no one. I know you are tired. I know you can't wait for the next season. I know you want to call it quits and just lay on a beach with a book (me too by the way!) but until you get to that time and space, my challenge to you is to live in the space you are right now.
Wherever you find yourself today friend, take a breath and a moment to take it all in. Remember...
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens..."
Ecclesiastes 3:1
This season will soon pass away. And just like the leaves of Fall prepare the tree for Winter, the season you are in is beautifully preparing you for the next one to come. Take a moment to breathe it all in and be present right where you are.
Love you mama!
